Snowball Cancer Challenge 2010

The Keller Family Community Foundation (KFCF) held its first fundraising event from December 26, 2009 – February 23, 2010.  The event was the Snowball Cancer Challenge.  During this event, Nick Keller attempted to break the world record for the most miles snowmobiled within 60 consecutive days.  I am happy to announce that Nick completed 19,506 miles!  Passing the previous record by 7,343 miles.

Nick’s Yamaha 2010 RS Vector GT Sled used 1,168.32 gallons of gas during 19,506 miles with it averaging out to 16.6958 miles per gallon through all various speeds, weather, and snow conditions over the 60 consecutive days.

Please take a moment to look at Nick’s Blog that he kept throughout his journey, along with the many wonderful people that donated to the foundation, and sponsorships for the event.

Nick sent the paperwork for the world record on May 1, 2010.  Guinness World Records replied back on May 7, 2010 that they received his claim.  As of November 26, 2010 – They turned down the record sighting April 2010 revised rules on a record that was already complete.  Have since written back a protest letter questioning their ruling.
